Sidekick Models
1. Turn on your phone with a SIM card that's not from the original network, IE not accepted
2. A message will appear prompting you for the unlocking code
3. In the upper right corner, the SIM icon should be flashing (where the signal strength should be)
4. On entering the Unlocking code, a dialog box should appear saying authenticating code.
5. The phone should now be unlocked.
Waiting for Activation
Sidekicks can take up to 48 hours to register with the new network. This is a one off process that usually only happends on newer models. Once the phone registers you may be asked to enter some information, including your preferred username and password.
Note: If you see the message 'Waiting for Activation Screen', press the menu key and the letter 'L' key at the same time.
The menu key is the top left key. By doing this, the waiting screen will go away and you will be able to make calls.
For best results, hold down Menu and the 'L' key until the 'Waiting for Activation' message disappears.
